It’s been four road wins in the first round series between the Western Conference’s top seed and the defending Stanley Cup champions as the series shifts back to Big D.

The Dallas Stars host the Vegas Golden Knights for Game 5 of the 2024 first round at American Airlines Center with the series tied 2-2. Puck drop is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. CT.

After dropping the first two games of the series at home, the Stars headed to Vegas with a road warrior mentality; it worked for the Stars.

With Wyatt Johnston scoring the overtime winner in Game 3 to give Dallas the 3-2 win, Monday’s Game 4 was another grueling game. Trailing 2-1 in the second period, Dallas scored two goals before the period and an empty-netter in the third to secure the 4-2 win.

Evgenii Dadonov, Ty Dellandrea and Roope Hintz each scored their first 2024 Playoff goals in Game 4. Jake Oettinger made 32 saves including 14 in the third period. Joe Pavelski remains pointless this series.

With winning back-to-back road games, expect a raucous crowd for Game 5 in Dallas. In the 2023 Playoffs, the Stars were 3-0 in Game 5s. Two of the three wins came at home.

Dating back to last year’s Western Conference Final, the Stars are 1-4 at home against the Golden Knights. At home this series, Dallas lost Game 1 by a final of 4-3 and Game 2 by a final of 3-1.

The team that wins tonight can have a chance to clinch the series in Vegas on Friday night at T-Mobile Arena for Game 6.
