Winning back-to-back road games in a Playoff series in a hostile environment is never easy, but the top seed in the Western Conference have turned the tables.

The Dallas Stars defeated the Vegas Golden Knights 4-2 in Game 4 of the 2024 first round at T-Mobile Arena. The series goes back to Dallas even at 2-2.

It’s no surprise, the Stars and Golden Knights dislike one another as Game 4 got chippy.

With the Stars trailing 1-0 with under 3 minutes to go in the first period, Evgenii Dadonov scored his first goal of the Playoffs on a tough angle to tie the game.

After Jack Eichel scored 3:09 into the second period to give Vegas a 2-1 lead, the Stars scored two goals in the period to take a 3-2 lead to the second intermission. Wyatt Johnston scored a powerplay goal to tie the game. It was Johnston’s third goal of the series.

Dallas’ fourth line would make it 3-2 after Craig Smith threw a puck on net that went of Ty Dellandrea and in the net past Logan Thompson. In the loss, Thompson made 28 saves in the loss. Dellandrea’s goal was his fourth career Playoff goal Playoff. Three of his four goals have been against Vegas.

In the third period, Jake Oettinger made 14 saves to shut Vegas’ offense down and Roope Hintz scored an empty-net goal for his first goal of the 2024 Playoffs to put Game 4 on ice. Oettinger finished with 32 saves.

After taking a puck to the face in pregame warmups, Chris Tanev went back to the locker room, but returned to warmups. Tanev made an impact with a +3 rating the highest among the Stars roster in Game 4.

Game 5 is set for Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. CT start in Dallas. The team that wins Game 5 can have a chance to clinch the series on Friday night in Vegas.
