Stars Start Four-Game Homestand to Close Out Regular Season Against Sabres

After playing their final back-to-back and finishing playing 41 road games, the Stars begin their final four games at home against an Eastern Conference team.

The Dallas Stars (49-20-9) host the Buffalo Sabres (37-36-5) at American Airlines Center. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. CT.

On Sunday night, the Stars played their final road game against the Avalanche who came into the game trailing the Stars by 3 points for the Central Division lead. After the Avalanche tied the game at two in the second period, the Stars would score three powerplay goals from Roope Hintz, Tyler Seguin and Mason Marchment in a 5:45 span.

The Avalanche made it a 5-4 game in the third period, but the Stars scored twice afterward to win 7-4. Jake Oettinger made 34 saves in the win.

For the Sabres, they have not been mathematically eliminated from the Playoffs in the East. With 79 points and four games remaining, they trail the Red Wings by 5 points for the second Wild Card seed. Rasmus Dahlin and Alex Tuch lead the Sabres with 57 points each. Tage Thompson leads the Sabres with 29 goals.

When the Stars and Sabres played each other on Feb. 6 in Buffalo, Oettinger stole the show by making 47 saves to set a new career-high. Matt Duchene and Sam Steel scored in the win for the Stars.
