After dropping the first two games of the five-game homestand, the Stars have a chance to prevail with a sweep against an Eastern Conference team they haven’t played since October and win three straight.

The Dallas Stars (42-19-9) host the Pittsburgh Penguins (30-29-9) at American Airlines Center. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. CT.

The Stars started their five-game homestand losing the first two games. After losing 6-2 against the Devils on March 14, the Stars have won their last two games against the Kings and Coyotes. The Stars have outscored them 9-3.

In Wednesday’s 5-2 win against the Coyotes, Tyler Seguin and Nils Lundkvist returned to the lineup. Lundkvist recorded the primary assist on the first two Stars goals and Tyler Seguin scored the game-winning goal after a fabulous pass from Matt Duchene.

The Penguins bring their 12-16-5 road record with them to Dallas. In Pittsburgh’s previous game on Tuesday at New Jersey, they fell 5-2 against the Devils. Sidney Crosby leads the Penguins in goals with 33 and points with 69.

Evgeni Malkin has 51 points (19G, 32A). In his first season in Pittsburgh, Erik Karlsson leads the Penguins with 38 assists.

On Oct. 24, the Stars defeated the Penguins 4-1 in Pittsburgh. After trailing 1-0 after the first period, the Stars scored four unanswered goals with scoring two goals each in the second and third period. Jason Robertson and Thomas Harley each recorded one goal and an assist. Jake Oettinger made 38 saves.

The Stars will have the same lineup from Wednesday night with Oettinger in goal. Oettinger made 23 saves against the Coyotes after getting pulled in his previous start against the Devils on March 14 by allowing four goals on 10 shots.
