After Tuesday night’s third period lead that was lost, the Stars have to re-set and get ready for another Eastern Conference team.
The Dallas Stars (40-18-9) host the New Jersey Devils (31-30-4) at American Airlines Center. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. CT.
Dallas led 3-0 less than halfway through its last game against the Panthers on Tuesday night. Sam Reinhart scored a powerplay goal to cut the Dallas lead to 3-1 heading into second intermission.
With under 9 minutes to go in the third period, the Panthers scored three goals in a span of 3:29 to take a 4-3 lead and win the game. Two of the Panthers three goals in the third period were powerplay goals; three total powerplay goals in the game were scored by the Panthers.
Tonight’s opponent for the Stars is a team they defeated 6-2 back on Jan. 20 in New Jersey. The Stars scored the first six goals of the game with Roope Hintz scoring two of the six goals. Scott Wedgewood made 29 saves in the win.

For the Devils, Jesper Bratt leads the team with 64 points (22G, 42). Jack Hughes also has 62 points (21G, 41A) after not playing in 16 of the Devils’ 65 games.
New Jersey enters losing five of its last six games. The past two consecutive games have come against Metropolitan Division teams the Hurricanes and Rangers.
Dallas can sweep the season series against New Jersey for the first time since the 2019-20 season. New Jersey has won the last two meetings in Dallas. Jake Oettinger will be in goal.
