After six months, the Stars will play a team for the first time this season.
The Dallas Stars (36-17-9) host the San Jose Sharks (15-38-5) at American Airlines Center. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. CT.
In Dallas’ recent game on Thursday night at home against the Jets, Dallas won 4-1 and re-took the Central Division lead. Dallas scored three goals in the first period and an empty-net goal in the third period to ice the game. Joe Pavelski and Roope Hintz each recorded one goal and an assist. Jake Oettinger made 25 saves to earn his 100th career win.
Oettinger will start tonight in goal.
For the Sharks, they enter losing five consecutive games. All five games were at home. The Sharks were outscored 25-11.
Mikael Granlund leads the Sharks with 35 points (7G, 28A) this season. Tomas Hertl and Fabian Zetterlund lead the Sharks with 15 goals each.
Last season, the Sharks won two of the three meetings against the Stars. In the last game played between the teams on Jan. 18, 2023, the Sharks erased a 3-0 deficit to win 5-3 in San Jose.

Tonight is the first of three meeting the Stars and Sharks will play each other in March. The Stars will play in San Jose for the next two meetings.
