After Tuesday night’s disaster in Denver, it’s another big Central Division game for the Stars at home.
The Dallas Stars (35-17-9) host the Central Division leading Winnipeg Jets (37-15-5) at American Airlines Center. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. CT.
On Tuesday night at Ball Arena, the Stars allowed five unanswered goals and fell 5-1 to the Avalanche. Logan Stankoven scored the lone Stars goal one minute into the game. Jake Oettinger made 22 saves on 27 shots on goal by Colorado.
With the Stars loss to the Avs and the Jets defeating the Blues in Winnipeg on Tuesday, the Jets are now in first place in the Central Division with 79 points and 57 games played. Dallas still has 79 points in second place with 61 games played. The Avalanche are in third place in the Central with 77 points and 60 games played.
In the two meetings this season between the Stars and Jets, the Stars won both games in Winnipeg in regulation. Dallas defeated Winnipeg 3-2 on Nov. 11 with Scott Wedgewood making saves. In the Nov. 28 meeting, Oettinger recorded a 27-save shutout in Dallas’ 2-0 win.

Winnipeg enters tonight winning four consecutive games. Goaltender Connor Hellebuyck is having a spectacular season with a 28-11-3 record with a 2.21 GAA and .925 SV% this season. Mark Scheifele leads the Jets with 52 points (17G, 35A) this season. Kyle Connor leads the Jets with 24 goals.
The Avalanche will be in action tonight as well in Chicago against the Blackhawks. Puck drop for Avs vs Hawks is at 8 p.m. CT.
