The Stars need help at the forward position with Evgenii Dadonov placed on LTIR. To get help, the Stars recalled up a 23-year-old with six games played in the NHL.
Drafted 100th overall in the 2019 NHL Draft by the Edmonton Oilers, Matěj Blümel will be back in the NHL after playing 46 games this season for the AHL Texas Stars. The Tabor, Czechia, native recorded 20 goals and 18 assists in the AHL.
Stars fans at some point want to see Logan Stankoven or Mavrik Bourque on the Dallas roster. Stankoven leads Texas in goals (24) and points (57) in 46 games played. Bourque in 46 games played has 17 goals and leads Texas in assists with 38.

But, one thing is common for both of them, they have not played in an NHL game. Blümel has played in the NHL.
With the trade deadline on March 8, Blümel might be a prospect that the Stars might trade or keep him at the deadline.
In his six games played in the NHL last season, Blümel scored one goal playing in his second NHL game in Philadelphia on Nov. 13, 2022. It turned out to be the game winning goal in the game.
In the next four games, Blümel didn’t record one point and was sent down to the NHL. Blümel finished last season in the AHL with 44 points (19G, 25A) in 58 games played. In the 2023 Calder Cup Playoffs, Blümel recorded one assist in six games played.
Blümel joined Stankoven and Bourque at the 2024 AHL All-Star Classic on Feb. 4-5 in San Jose, California. It was the first AHL All-Star appearance for Blümel.
For the 2023-24 season, Blümel’s salary is $925,000. Blümel is a restricted free agent after this season.
