It’s back to business for the Stars as they start regular season play after the All-Star break with a three-game road trip.
The Dallas Stars (30-13-6) travel to Buffalo, New York, to play the Buffalo Sabres (22-23-4) at KeyBank Center. Puck drop is scheduled for 6 p.m. CT.
Dallas headed into the All-Star break earning points in its past five games (4-0-1) and winning three consecutive games. In the last two wins on Jan. 25 vs Anaheim (4-3) and Jan. 27 vs Washington (5-4), defenseman Thomas Harley scored the overtime winner in both games for Dallas.
The Sabres won their last two games before the All-Star break in California defeating the Kings 5-3 on Jan. 24 and the Sharks 3-2 on Jan. 5-2. Casey Mittelstadt leads the Sabres in points with 42 and assists with 30 this season. JJ Peterka leads the Sabres with 18 goals.
In the two games between the two teams last season, the Stars went 1-0-1. In the last meeting on March 9, 2023, the Stars defeated the Stars 10-4 in Buffalo. Ten different Dallas players recorded two points in the win.

Heading into tonight, the Stars are in second place in the Central Division with 66 points trailing the Colorado Avalanche by two points. The Avalanche lost to the Rangers 2-1 last night in overtime in New York City. Colorado plays the Devils in New Jersey at 6:30 p.m. CT tonight.
For the Winnipeg Jets who trail the Stars by one point in the Central Division with 65 points, they play the Penguins in Pittsburgh tonight at 6 p.m. CT. Winnipeg has played two less games than Dallas and three less games than Colorado.
