Dallas concludes its five-game homestand against a team they beat earlier this month on the road.

The Dallas Stars (12-4-2) host the Calgary Flames (7-9-3) tonight at American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. CT. Tonight is the second of three meetings for the two teams this season.

The first game occurred on Nov. 1 in Calgary. Dallas won 4-3 in regulation with Stars goaltender Jake Oettinger making 44 saves. Jamie Benn recorded a goal and an assist; Roope Hintz recorded two assists.

Since the Dallas loss, the Flames have posted a 5-2-2 record since. The Flames are playing their third road game in a row. Last game, Calgary lost 4-2 in Nashville against the Predators on Wednesday.

The Stars end their five-game homestand with earning five out of a possible eight points as of now. In Dallas’ last game on Wednesday, they suffered a 2-1 overtime loss to the Vegas Golden Knights.

Last season, the Stars lost both games at home to the Flames. Dallas lost 6-5 on Jan. 14, 2023, and lost 5-4 on March 6, 2023.

For the Stars, the Central Division race is getting tighter with each game played. Dallas sits in first place with 26 points. The Colorado Avalanche sit in second and the Winnipeg Jets are in third. Both have 24 points. The St. Louis Blues are in fourth place and are currently the first Wild Card seed with 21 points.

After tonight’s game, the Stars will play two games in Canada on Tuesday and Thursday. Dallas will meet Winnipeg on Tuesday in Manitoba and will conclude its three-game season series with Calgary on Thursday in Alberta.
