When asked which NHL team has the most loyal fans, not many hockey fans would put fans of the Dallas Stars in the discussion. However, with an observation by OLBG.com, the Stars fans ranked the best.

Dallas Morning News’ Lia Assimakopoulous tweeted an email she received about which NHL fans were the most loyal from the last decade. Long story short, the Stars fans have improved incredibly since 2014.

The observation was observed with attendance, conversations online and online mentions.

Percentage of a Stars stadium full in the 2013-14 season was 79. Last season, it was at 100. A strong and clear improvement from 10 years ago. The Stars had two million positive online mentions to 18 negative. The Stars also making three Western Conference Finals, as well as one Stanley Cup Final over the past five seasons, will also help with attendance.

For the Stars to have their fans with these high numbers is an important thing. Dallas isn’t usually viewed as a “hockey town.” And the city of Dallas will only care about the Cowboys. With these numbers, hockey in Dallas is changing, and it’s changing tremendously.

With American Airlines Center being in downtown Dallas, and having public transportation to get to and from the arena, it also helps with fan attendance.

The Stars have a great GameDay Experience at the AAC to help bring in some new fans, as well as the die-hard fans with GameDay traditions. To Pantera’s “Puck Off” goal song, to the National Anthem, or the “Friends in Low Places” sing along, Stars fans have fun at the AAC.

This is another positive step moving forward for the Stars in Dallas. Expect more games at the AAC next season to be sold out, and more people in Texas wearing Stars apparel.
