In October 2020, the Dallas Stars introduced their new “Blackout” jersey. Since the jersey has become the Stars’ third jersey, the jersey has stood out in the crowds for Stars fans at the AAC for four years.
However, the Stars have never attempted to have a blackout at the AAC. Entering the 2024-25 season, this is the time to finally attempt it.
There is one game on the Stars schedule that might be the perfect time to do a blackout. The Stars host Central Division rival Colorado Avalanche on Black Friday. To solidify the blackout, the Stars could distribute black shirts to wear, and black rally towels to wave on the AAC seats.
If fans have the shirts in their seats too tight, big, or simply don’t want to wear them, then fans should be encouraged to wear black Stars apparel. Anything from jerseys, to shirts or hoodies.

If Stars fans have the Stars’ black jerseys from 2008-2013, or the older 1990s black alternate, that works too for wearing them at the blackout.
With the popularity of the Stars very high in Texas, it’s time for the Stars to attempt something they have never done before with blacking out the AAC. A blackout on TV and inside the arena would look outstanding. The Stars have always done a “Blackout intro” for when the team wears their black jerseys. So, why not do a blackout of the AAC?
