With the Florida Panthers prevailing to win the 2024 Stanley Cup Final against the Edmonton Oilers last night in Game 7, hockey fans now wait until October for the 2024-25 season to start. With the Cup concluded, the NHL Draft and free agency is next to watch.

One of the questions now is what are the odds for teams to win the Stanley Cup in 2025. For the Dallas Stars, their odds are on FanDuel, and to nobody’s surprise, they’re a top favorite.

As of 11:15 a.m. CT, the Stars are tied with the Oilers with the fourth best odds to win the 2025 Stanley Cup at +1000. Both teams are tied for second best in the Western Conference behind the Colorado Avalanche who have +950 odds. The defending champion Panthers open as the favorites to win it at +900.

With the Stars clinching the top seed in the Western Conference last season and losing in the Western Conference Finals to the Oilers, the Stars will have motivation for next season. Since 2020, the Stars have been in one Stanley Cup and have made the past two Conference Finals.

FanDuel’s Top 10 odds to win the 2025 Stanley Cup:

  • Florida Panthers, +900
  • Carolina Hurricanes, +950
  • Colorado Avalanche, +950
  • Dallas Stars, +1000
  • Edmonton Oilers, +1000
  • Vegas Golden Knights, +1100
  • New Jersey Devils, +1300
  • New York Rangers, +1300
  • Toronto Maple Leafs, +1400
  • Los Angeles Kings, +1800

Despite having key free agents like Chris Tanev, Matt Duchene, Sam Steel, Scott Wedgewood and Craig Smith, Dallas still has deep depth with young and older talent.

With Dallas talented players like Jake Oettinger, Wyatt Johnston, Logan Stankoven, Jason Robertson, Roope Hintz, Jamie Benn, Tyler Seguin, Mason Marchment and Miro Heiskanen on its team, Dallas will be in the conversation on what team will win the Stanley Cup.

Fans are expecting a breakthrough for the Stars to win their first Stanley Cup since 1999. With the Mavericks reaching the NBA Finals in 2024, it could give more motivation for the Stars next season.
