Defenseman Nicklass Grossmann made his NHL debut for the Dallas Stars on Dec. 2, 2006. After his debut, Grossmann played seven more games in the 2006-07 season with no points and wouldn’t play in the 2007 Playoffs for the Stars.
In the following 2007-08 season, Grossmann saw more playing time as he played in 62 of Dallas’ 82 games. While Grossmann wouldn’t score any goals, he would finish with 7 assists and the fourth highest +/- rating on the team with a +10.
Unlike 2007, Grossmann would play in the 2008 Playoffs for the Stars. In Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals against the Red Wings, Grossmann scored to make it 1-1 in the first period. His first career goal would be in the Playoffs.
The Red Wings would go on to defeat Grossmann and the Stars in six games. Grossmann recorded 2 points (1G, 1A) while playing in all 18 Playoff games for the Stars.
Grossmann was known for being a defensive defenseman. In the 2008-09 and 2009-10 seasons, Grossmann recorded back-to-back 100-hit seasons.
In the middle of his fourth full season with the Stars in the 2011-12 season, Grossmann was traded to the Flyers in February 2012 for a 2012 second-round pick and 2013 third-round pick. In his tenure with the Stars, Grossmann recorded 41 points (3G, 38A) while playing in 333 games.
Grossmann would finish the 2011-12 season playing 22 games and recording 6 assists with the Flyers. In the 2012 Playoffs, Grossmann would record 1 assist for the Flyers.
After the 2012 Playoffs, Grossmann would spend play the next three seasons with the Flyers making one Playoff appearance in 2014.
Grossmann joined the Coyotes for the 2015-16 season and recorded 7 points (3G, 4A) in 58 games. The following season, Grossmann played 3 games for the Flames before being placed on waivers after the Flames terminated his contract.
Following his Flames 3-game tenure, Grossmann spent the 2016-17 season with the SHL’s Örebro HK in Örebro, Sweden. The next two seasons, Grossmann played with the Södertälje SK who play in the HockeyAllsvenskanin league Södertälje, Sweden.
In his NHL career, Grossmann recorded 86 points (13G, 73A) in 592 games.
