Americans Struggle Against Oilers in Final Regular Season Game

In the Americans’ final game of the 2023-24 regular season, it went rough.

The Tulsa Oilers defeated the Allen Americans 4-1 at BOK Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. With the loss, Allen concluded the season with a 33-35-3-1 record.

After Tulsa outshot Allen 10-1 in the first 6:56 of the game, both Allen and Tulsa scored a powerplay goal. Tulsa finished the first period with 16 shots on goal despite the game being 1-1 after the first period of play.

Kyle Crnkovic scored 2:06 into the second period to give Tulsa a 2-1 lead. Sixty-eight seconds later, Jamie Rome scored to make it 3-1. Tulsa recorded 16 shots on goal in the first and second period. Mark Sinclair recorded 35 saves for Allen.

After Blake McLaughlin scored his second goal of the game at 6:40 in the third period to make it 4-1, Hank Crone got in a fight Crnkovic and both received game misconduct penalties two seconds later.

With Tulsa earning the win, they finished the season with a 30-33-8-1 record. Tulsa avoided getting swept by Allen in the weekend series and cliched a spot in the 2024 Playoffs.

The Americans will begin on the road for the 2024 Playoffs with Game 3, 4 and 5 (if necessary) at CUTX Event Center. They will host from 4/26-4/28.
