After a perfect four-game road trip, the Stars return home and with a chance to make franchise history.

The Dallas Stars (47-19-9) host the Edmonton Oilers (45-23-5) at American Airlines Center. Puck drop is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. CT.

This past week, the Stars swept their four-game road trip on the West Coast. The Stars defeated the Coyotes, Sharks, Canucks and Kraken. They outscored their opponents 16-6.

In the recent win on Saturday night in Seattle, the Stars shutout the Kraken 3-0. Wyatt Johnston recorded his 100th career point and Jake Oettinger recorded a 17-save shutout to extend the Stars winning streak to seven, which tied the franchise record. An eighth consecutive win tonight would break the franchise record.

The Stars’ opponent isn’t an easy one with the Oilers coming to town. The Oilers are currently in second place in the Pacific Division with 95 points. The Oilers fell 3-2 in overtime on Monday night against the Blues.

Tonight is the third and final meeting this season. Both games this season resulted in 4-3 finishes. The Stars won in Edmonton on Nov. 2; the Oilers won in overtime in Dallas on Feb. 17.

To no surprise, Connor McDavid is at it again this season leading the NHL with 97 assists and is third in points with 126. Zach Hyman’s 52 goals is tied for second in the NHL with Sam Reinhart of the Panthers.

Of Leon Draisaitl’s 99 points, 60 of them are assists. He and defenseman Evan Bouchard each have 60 assists. In the previous Stars Oilers matchup, Bouchard scored 30 seconds into overtime.

The Western Conference standings are still getting tighter with 15 days left in the regular season. The Avalanche are 3 points behind the Stars in the Central Division after Monday’s 4-1 loss against the Blue Jackets.

The Canucks trail the Stars by 3 points for the top seed in the Western Conference after last night’s 6-3 loss against the Golden Knights. The Canucks play again tonight in Arizona against the Coyotes at 9 p.m. CT.

The Kings are 3 points ahead of the Blues for the second Wild Card seed after they fell 4-3 on Monday night against the Jets. Tonight at 8:30 p.m. CT, they host the Kraken. A Kings win would put them 1 point behind the Predators for the first Wild Card seed.

The President’s Trophy race is still alive as the Stars have 103 points. On Monday night, the Rangers fell 5-2 to the Penguins. With the loss, it helped the Stars remain 1 point behind the Rangers. Tonight, the Rangers host the Devils at 6 p.m. CT.
