After dropping the first two games on a five-game homestand, the Stars can sweep the regular season series against a top three team in the Pacific Division.

The Dallas Stars (40-19-9) host the Los Angeles Kings (34-21-11) at American Airlines Center. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. CT.

Prior to the game, Stars legend Mike Modano will be honored outside with a statue. Modano joins Mavericks legend Dirk Nowitzki as the only two players from the Mavericks and Stars to have a statue outside the AAC. The announcement was made during the Stars vs Rangers game on Nov. 20.

The Stars fell 6-2 to the Devils on Thursday night. After Craig Smith scored to make it 2-1 Stars in the first period, the Devils scored five unanswered goals. Jake Oettinger was pulled for Scott Wedgewood after the Devils took a 4-2 lead in the second period.

The Stars have won both games against the Kings this season. The Stars won the first meeting 5-1 in Dallas on Jan. 16. Seven days ago in Los Angeles, the Stars won 4-1.

For the Kings, they played last night in Chicago and won 5-0 against the Blackhawks. In the win, Cam Talbot recorded a 28-save shutout; Anze Kopitar scored two goals; Pierre-Luc Dubois, Alex Laferriere and Jordan Spence each recorded one goal and an assist; Adrian Kempe and Quinton Byfield each recorded two assists.

Despite being held pointless last night, Kevin Fiala leads the Kings in assists with 36 and points with 57. Trevor Moore leads the Kings with 25 goals.

The Stars fell to third place in the Central Division following the Jets’ 6-0 win against the Ducks last night. Wedgewood will start in goal vs Los Angeles
