It’s a back-to-back for the Stars as they continue their four-game road trip.

The Dallas Stars (34-14-8) travel to New York City to take on the New York Rangers (36-16-3) at Madison Square Garden. Puck drop is scheduled for 6 p.m. CT.

In Dallas’ previous game yesterday, they fell 4-3 in a shootout to the Bruins. The shootout went nine rounds. It’s two consecutive losses for the Stars where they earned one point for the standings. Wyatt Johnston, Ryan Suter and Esa Lindell scored for Dallas.

Dallas played yesterday without Miro Heiskanen, Matt Duchene, Nils Lundvkist and Jani Hakanää. The team placed Evgenii Dadonov on LTIR. With the injuries still hitting the team, Dallas recalled Logan Stankoven from the AHL. Stankoven recorded 57 points (24G, 33A) in 46 games played with Texas.

For the Rangers, spirits are flying high after Sunday’s 6-5 overtime win in the 2024 Stadium Series at MetLife Stadium against the Islanders. Down 5-3, the Rangers forced after Chris Kreider and Mika Zibanejad scored two goals in under three minutes toward the end of regulation. Artemi Panarin scored 10 seconds into overtime to win the game. Igor Shesterkin made 36 saves in the win.

The Stars can sweep the season series against the Rangers for the first time since the 2017-18 season. Trailing 2-0 in the second period, Dallas scored six unanswered including five goals in the third period.
