Dallas will conclude its four-game road trip and go for the season series sweep against a team they defeated on Dec. 11.
The Dallas Stars (27-13-6) travel to Little Caesars Arena to take on the Detroit Red Wings (24-17-5) in Detroit, Michigan. Puck drop is scheduled for 6 p.m. CT.
In the Dec. 11 meeting in Dallas, the Stars defeated the Red Wings 6-3. Roope Hintz, Jason Robertson, Sam Steel and Esa Lindell each recorded two points in the win. Miro Heiskanen scored two goals and added an assist, but will be out of the lineup for Dallas as he is still dealing with a lower body injury.

Since 2024 started, the Red Wings have a 7-1-1 record and are currently in fourth place in the Atlantic Division. Detroit won its last game on Sunday 2-1 against the Tampa Bay Lightning. Dylan Larkin leads Detroit in goals with 18 and points with 41. Alex DeBrincat has 40 points (17G, 23A) for Detroit on the season.
On Sunday for the Stars, they fell 3-2 against the New York Islanders in overtime. In the three games on the East Coast road trip, Dallas is 1-1-1.
Dallas has swept the regular season series against Detroit for the past two seasons. Two of the wins for Dallas were decided in overtime.
Jake Oettinger will be back in goal; Craig Smith is out and Ty Dellandrea will be back in the lineup for the Stars.
