It’s a chance at payback for the Stars against a team they fell to at home six days ago.
The Dallas Stars (24-11-5) host the Nashville Predators (22-18-1) at American Airlines Center. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m.
On Jan. 6, the Stars and Predators played in Dallas and the Predators defeated the Stars 4-3 in regulation. Nashville’s Flip Forsberg scored two goals in the third period to help Nashville prevail with the win.
Since the loss, Dallas has won two straight against the Minnesota Wild. In the two games from Monday and Wednesday night, Dallas outscored the Wild 11-2. On Wednesday night in Dallas, the Stars won 7-2. Twelve different Stars players recorded a point and seven different Stars players scored a goal.

The Nashville Predators enter with a 2-2-0 record in 2024. Nashville lost its last game 5-3 at home against the Anaheim Ducks.
In the NHL standings, the Stars remain in third place with 53 points as they are seven points behind the current President’s Trophy leading Winnipeg Jets and four points behind the Colorado Avalanche. The Predators have fallen to the second Wild Card behind the Edmonton Oilers. The Seattle Kraken are behind the Predators for the second spot. It’s currently a three-way tie with 45 points between the Oilers, Predators and Kraken for the Wild Card spots.
Tonight’s decision on who is starting in goal according to Stars head coach Pete DeBoer is a “game time decision.” Scott Wedgewood has started 11-of-12 games in goal since Jake Oettinger’s injury on Dec. 15. Wedgewood’s record overall has improved to 12-4-3 with a .895 SV% and 3.11 GAA.
