Dallas Travels to Canada to play Winnipeg

After a five-game homestand, the Stars hop on their jets to head North of the border to begin a two-game Canadian road trip in Manitoba.

The Dallas Stars (12-5-2) travel to Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, to take on the Winnipeg Jets (12-6-2) at Canada Life Centre with puck drop at 7 p.m. CT. Tonight is the second meeting of the season between the Stars and Jets.

Dallas comes off of a five-game homestand where they took five of out 10 possible points. The Stars have lost their previous two games to the Vegas Golden Knights in overtime and to the Calgary Flames. In Dallas’ last game against Calgary on Black Friday, the Stars blew a 4-3 third period lead and lost 7-4.

Despite losing two straight home games, Dallas enters tonight’s game against Winnipeg with a 7-1-1 road record. On Nov. 11, the Stars defeated the Jets 3-2 in Winnipeg. Scott Wedgewood made 31 saves and Wyatt Johnston recorded a goal and assist in the win.

Kyle Connor (14G, 9A) and Mark Scheifele (7G, 16A) are tied with the most points on the Jets with 23 points each. Josh Morrissey has the most points out of any Jet defenseman with 19 points. Goaltender Connor Hellebuyck has a 10-4-1 record with a 2.65 GAA and .908 SV% this season in 15 games played.

No player on Dallas so far has over 20 points on the season. Joe Pavelski leads the Stars with 19 points.

The Stars currently are in second place with 26 points with the Jets in third place with 26 points right behind them in the Central Division. The Avalanche hold a four-point lead in the division after last night’s 4-1 win against the Tampa Bay Lightning.

After tonight, the Stars won’t play the Jets until Feb. 29. The Stars will host the Jets twice in 2024.
