Dallas will be facing the Colorado Avalanche in a bitter division show down, at the American Airlines Center. This is the first matchup of the season between the two. Last season, Dallas went 1-2-1, and lost the division title by one point, when Colorado defeated the Nashville Predators 4-3 to take the crown.

This also proves that winning a division title doesn’t mean, that you go far into the playoffs, as Colorado was exited in game 7, against the Seattle Kraken.

Colorado’s season has been up and down since the start, going 10-5-0 (20 Points) at the start, and 5-5-0 in the last 10. It is expected that Alexander Georgiev, their number one, is currently 9-4-0, with a 3.01GAA, and SV% of .890 will in in goal.

Dallas’ Jake Oettinger, 8-2-1 with a 2.26 GAA in the past 11 games. Oettinger SV% .926 being in top 10 in the NHL, should be in goal Saturday night.

Colorado’s Artturi Lehkonen will be out for this game, after taking a scary fall against the board, and was in a neck brace, according to Colorado’s X account.

Dallas’ 4 overall losses (11-3-1 / 23 points), were against team, as of this writing, are in the top 3 teams in their division. (Atlantic, and Pacific)

Prediction time: This is a BIG division test for Dallas, as it will feel like a boxing title fight. Tyler Seguin, Matt Duchune, Jason Robertson, Rope Hintz, have to put their A+ game on display Saturday night. I excepted it to go to a shootout, with 5 rounds and Dallas pulling out the victory. Final score; 5-4.
