Dallas hits the road to play struggling Flames

After defeating the Blue Jackets 5-3 on Monday night, Dallas heads up North of the border to start a three-game road trip in Western Canada.

The Dallas Stars (5-1-1) travel to Calgary, Alberta, Canada, to play the struggling Calgary Flames (2-6-1) at Scotiabank Saddledome with puck drop at 7:30 p.m. CT. Last season, Calgary took two-of-three from Dallas with the loss coming in overtime on March 18, 2023. The two teams scored plenty of goals against each other in the three-game regular season series.

Calgary scored 16 goals against Dallas last season; Dallas scored 15 goals against Calgary.

The Flames enter tonight losing five consecutive games. The most recent loss was a 5-2 loss on Sunday against the Edmonton Oilers in the 2023 Heritage Classic. Calgary has yet to score more than two goals in a game during its five-game losing streak.

The Flames’ top point leaders are Andrew Mangiapane (3G, 3A) and Elias Lindholm (2G, 4A) with six points each. Mangiapane also leads the Flames in goals.

Calgary has three players with a -10 rating or worse. Jonathan Huberdeau and Dillon Dube each have a -10 rating; Nazem Kadri has a -11 rating.

Dallas has a 2-0-1 road record; Calgary has a 1-2-0 home record.

20-year-old Wyatt Johnston leads the Stars in scoring with seven points (3G, 4A) after picking up a goal and assist in Monday’s win. Johnston, along with Joe Pavelski and Roope Hintz, are tied for most goals on the team with three.
